Do you remember when
Banishing love
Into an invisible disaster
Became just a surface sound
When the whirlpool wind suddenly stopped
Right down the middle of midday’s
Unbroken snow
And there was a deep quiet
Elliptical quiet
Like the quiet after a battle
When all you heard was the sizzle
First the anguish,
ReplyDeletethen the dulling
and numbness
of the moment.
like going into shock,
except in the sense
of where love gets lost
it must be some kind
of protective instinct
to not feel for awhile.
i am not sure where this came from Dan.
ReplyDeleteall of a sudden it was on the page.
One can always blame it on the muse....
ReplyDeleteDan - touché.
