a song for eyes and hearts

as each day goes there’s another one new
how many people will we see today
how many lips may we kiss today
if we wake up
how many words will we use today
how many people can we be today
if we ever wake up

  4. this asks so many valid questions, robert, and it asks us, almost begs us, to be present. can we ever answer it sufficiently enough? can we ever be sufficiently present?

    this is a wonderful poem!

  5. the whole thing just begs as you say
to be aware enough in ourselves and toward each other.
being sufficiently present sadly is a goal and not a norm.
    thank you.

  7. This is a poem that gently reminds us -

    think.
    remember.
    be thankful.

And for that, thank you, Robert.

  10. I love the simplicity of thoughts and deeds in your poem. However, there is more to this than meets the eye..... if we ever wake up. Great post. Thanks for sharing. =D
