i saw my breath before the day started as i walked down the hall passed the cold stove.
my breath quickened visibly as your words registered in my cold self and i warmed at humility, the earth, the sea.
the thought of you each day inspires me, your quiet ways and your long pauses for thought
only makes your gifts so welcome.
i thank you right now for my cold fingers and the sun just coming over the ridge,
for slowing me down once again, to breathe.
Well said, Robert. Keep piling the wood on the fire.
